"Greenwashing" is a slick, sophisticated advertising gimmick used by corporate giants to try to
make the public feel good about what the corporations are doing even though their activities hurt
the environment. Do not be fooled by TV ads or web pages that look environmentally friendly.
Check to see who is paying for the page.

ANSWER:
On average it takes 100 pounds coal to generate 100 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Two factors are
involved. One is the heat content of the goal which is measured in BTU's. The other is plant
efficiency.Our sources at the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power say the average is 100
pounds.
